Ralph is tired of being overshadowed by Fix-It Felix, the "good guy" of their game who always gets to save the day. But after constantly seeing all the glory go to Felix, Ralph decides he's tired of playing the bad guy. He takes matters into his own huge hands and sets off on a game-hopping journey across the arcade to prove he's got what it takes to be a hero. He meets the tough-as-nails Sergeant Calhoun from the first-person action game Hero's Duty. But it's the feisty misfit Vanellope von Schweetz from the candy cart racing game, Sugar Rush, whose world is threatened when Ralph accidentally unleashes a deadly enemy that threatens the entire arcade. Will Ralph realize his dream and save the day before it's too late?
We never get to see a tale from the point of view of the 'bad guy', but Wreck-it Ralph conveys this perfectly. I could watch this film over and over and it would never get boring! You grow to really love the characters (in my case, especially Venellope - the "glitch") of this film. Wreck-it Ralph had been highly anticipated and long awaited, this project by Disney could have gone phenomenally wrong. But luckily with the Director - Rich Moore - (who also directed The Simpsons) the controller was completely in the right hands! Wreck-it Ralph is definitely for all the family, and is a delight to watch.
